Several activities in Cuba to celebrate the birth of the African Union

As a tribute to this event, the world celebrates the world celebrates Africa Day every May 25 which, on this occasion, will be celebrated in Cuba with a long day scheduled until May 29.

Among the activities will be a meeting to remember the revolutionary and Africanist Jorge Risquet, as well as exhibitions by Emilio O'Farrill and Generoso Betancourt, from the AfroAtenas and Mi Barrio projects, respectively.

There will also be performances by the groups Síntesis, Obiní Batá and La Academia de los Muñequitos, as well as the celebration of the Afro-Venezuelan Day organized with the Embassy of that nation and Casa Simón Bolívar.

The event is sponsored by the House of Africa on the island, the Cuban-African Friendship Association and the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution in Havana.
